Father Mark Arey of the Greek Orthodox Church of America sent me his translation of the famously mysterious twenty-seventh book of the New Testament and I found it spellbinding.
I saw its potential as a graphic novel and thus began a three-way collaboration between an Orthodox priest from New York, an evangelical Christian illustrator from South Carolina, and a secular writer/producer from Los Angeles.
It took eighteen long months of deep dives into modern scholarship and ancient history, but our vision was stunningly realized by Chris Koelle and published in English, French, and German language editions.
